Not without severely limiting what good developers can do.
This is 2010, not 1990. People should be aware of the risks of running any downloaded software on their computer, and only run programs they trust. Virus scanning software is a last line of defense, not a primary method of protection.

The free AVG has has some problems it will not pic up some viruse.. even if u do the updates...thats why i change to norten 60 day free trial then i'll buy it after it up

i found no virus.
frame-job of a bitter dev that got ripped off?
i'm not disputing that the program is a direct rip off of lifetank.

No, I think there's sufficient cause for concern:

Although I'm not defending ripping off other people's work, it's unlikely that portal's deliberately infected this file, it's more likely he's as much a victim of the virus as anybody else. I've seen the kind of noob questions he used to ask on the decal dev forums, I'll be very surprised if he's got the capability to pull off something like this. |

I ran a scan today and it found nothing. After I downloaded portaltank again and scanned I got the same result. File is infected from its home.

I am aware you had a virus Volt... I am wanting to see if anyone else downloaded an infected file.
