yeah with 2.9.6.5... i crash when i hit enter world, go back to 6.0 and everything works fine

I was having this problem with 2.9.6.5 beta. It would launch AC go to the screen with the two blue bars, first bar loads when it gets to the updating one (2nd one) ac would crash with the error "AC Client has stopped working"

It did this anytime I had decal 2.9.6.5 running. when id close decal it would not happen.

Im using Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit running both as administrator.
Dual Nvidia Gefore 9800GT's (SLI)
Latest drivers

btw I am crashing before even getting to the character screen. This error occurs at the ingame, ac logo, loading/uploading blue bubble screen

Weird bro... I had the same problem when trying to use 2.9.6.4, I would crash EVERY time at the connection screen. 2.9.6.5 crashes me when I "attempt" to enter world lol

6.0 works flawless.

wtf? not for me bro. You probably had decal when the august update came out and updated it using the auto updater right?

I just got back to AC so I had no update. The best I could do was I found a post by Virindi with mirrors to 5 update files, I replaced the old ones with his but it still doesnt work.

Decal update should function now. We updated the DNS to a working server.

The Decal uninstaller does not function properly, this is why you cannot go back to 2.9.6.0 after you install 2.9.6.4 or 2.9.6.5 without clearing the registry of all Decal related things. You can fix this by uninstalling, and using the CleanDecalReg utility at http://skunkworks.sourceforge.net/misc/CleanDecalReg.exe , then installing 2.9.6.0.

If you have SLI and you are crashing with 2.9.6.5, you may want to try disabling SLI. I test and have no problem entering world with miscellaneous ATI/AMD, nVIDIA and also Intel integrated, but I don't have any SLI or CrossFire machines.

Radeon 9800 Pro

Radeon X1400

Radeon HD 3650


Geforce FX 5500M

Geforce 7900 GS

Geforce 8400M

Geforce GTS 250


Intel GMA 950

Intel GMA X4500

Intel HD Graphics (P6000)


and all of these work for me.

This is what im working with, I took a screenshot for you so you can see what I have.
This is after an uninstall, that registry cleaner exe which errored, a reboot, then a fresh install. I then hit the update and it update via your new server.

I go ingame, theres still no decal. And I did disable SLI just to see what would happen.

I've cleaned the reg and done all that, 2.9.6.0 is the only version that works for me

You have to run the cleaning utility as admin, guys.
