i've really turned into an original snob ever since i got into anime. i don't want to watch a remake of anything from another country. esp not if the original is like 1 year old. 
I'm not into anime but I also prefer originals to remakes for just about anything. Hey, I break that rule all the time and watch some remakes, (sometimes I even like the a little)---- but when it comes to foreign films and cultural concepts in story telling, the remake can really kill a story.

i'll watch remakes but generally only if they're remaking an old american movie. the dawn of the dead remake is good and the fright night remake is great. but yeah i'm not gonna watch an american remake of a foreign film/tv show/whatever just because i don't want to read subtitles or listen to an accent. that's retarded.
have you watched any of the shows on bbca that totally have subtitles even though they're in english already? i saw a bit of a skins episode that had subtitles on bbca and i couldn't stop laughing. it was perfectly understandable to me. which is good because i watched it years before bbca ran it. they censored the hell out of it too.

I watched the original movie, it was pretty good...just wish they had made the girl shave first (holy jesus armpit hair on a woman in a sex scene is very un-sexy).
