I'm not a fan and I don't believe that he is very sincere about this.
However,
It is a politically brilliant move. It would be better in the summer but by then, the republicans will have been hammering him about government size and it would have been seen as a reaction. This way, it can be positioned as if he thought it up all on his own.

anyone know where these government jobs were cut from?
didn't a new agency just get fired up?
i know there was a job freeze and all, but it was completely bogus within the Department of Justice.
even in the Bureau of Prisons, we have had a lot of jobs consolidated and/or eliminated.
problem is, those positions were merely renamed...same people, same pay, same job functions, just a different title.

Trouble is he brought it up during his State of the Union Address a year ago.
All of his legislation to bring jobs back has been blocked by the Republicans as well.
Why do Republicans hate America, wait that isn't it, they just love profits and bonuses for the top elites more than the working man.
It well past time we do something about them, and Obama is calling upon you to mute these obstructionist bastages.
