I'd let Tebow date your daughter too.

I saw your name in the reply list and I knew damn right well you would bash Christians
Pat Robertson, Jerry Fallwell, an anti_gay church protecting anal rapers of young boys, and people who cry every time there is a joke about their religion.
that is the whole Christian faith
really??

No not really.
I am well aware they don't represent the whole or even most of Christianity
My point was, and many chose to miss it, Christians are in control of their image. Tebow is well liked in direct contradiction to Rho's claim. You can be openly Christian and well liked. Rho's inability to see that and his withdrawl from any discussion is on him.
But to claim the negative images are not the result of very real and public examples is to ignore the facts. That's why I named them.

I do not believe in religion yet like Tebow. He has the strength of his convictions (I don't have to agree to admire his consistency) and seems to have his priorities straight. I have never needed the threat of some deity that promises to roast you in hell for eternity if you don't love him to do the right thing. If people need that threat then ok, but regardless, this article tells the story of a pretty cool guy no matter what you believe, or don't believe in.

As far as his football ability, I am willing to see what a full off-season with coaching does for him. I think he certainly has the raw potential if someone (Elway?) can mold it. I do enjoy all the hatred Tebow seems to inspire in people, many of them professed Christians, as he certainly seems to represent their supposed values far better than the frothing at the mouth haters.

Our popular culture has now screwed itself around to the point that it sees just about any openly religious christian in this country as some hyper-self-righteous asshole that thinks that God is ONLY on his/her side and that the rest of you are going to hell because of it.
Rho
1) Like above, his popularity contradicts this. #1 jersey sales? #1 discussed item on ESPN? The guy is huge.
2) MOST people out there have no problem with his beliefs. They don't care that he's a Christian or even that he believes openly. The issue that MOST people have is how in-your-face he is about it. It's overwhelming.
It's one thing to believe in God and be a "good" Christian. It's another to CONSTANTLY drop to one knee and pray on the field, or start every single interview with "First I want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

It is interesting that with all of the wailing about the treatment of Christians what claim did the right wing use against Obama? Was it that he was a Christian? No, of course not. The slur was that Obama was not a Christian (a Muslim). In elections between Christians and non-Christians the Christian is the heavy favorite.

Blah blah blah
I'm sure that there is way more to Tim Tebow than his choice of religion.

I heard that after a winning game he visits sick children in the hospital and brings them toys.
