Extra thick smoked bacon with just enough fat to coat the bottom of the pan with a very thin layer

Chop it up, cook it to chewy consistency

Add scrambled eggs

Top with cheese

Put between two buttered slices of toast and devour

That is similar to how I make my bacon.

I fry the bacon, saving the grease between sets and break up about half the 1 lb package of bacon into my scrambled eggs. I add some of the bacon grease back to the pan and cook the eggs/bacon mix, then melt cheese over the top of the mass.

I'm honestly surprised at how few I run in to that ever think to cook scrambled eggs this way.

Yeah, I don't like to have to portion out the grease, so I get bacon that doesn't have much fat. Just enough that the eggs don't stick to the pan. It's wonderful

Not tried the oven yet, but I like thick slices cooked very crispy. Some call it burned.

QFT, there must not be any fat left on the bacon.

2) Oven if I'm preparing more than about 8 slices.

3) Pan frying if I absolutely MUST cook it that way. However, if I'm cooking a bunch of chopped bacon for like a huge salad or a giant dish of potatoes au gratin or something, I prefer to slice it down raw and then cook the little slices in a pan - that's easiest for that application imo.

I always cook bacon in the oven unless I'm doing the little pieces, same as you.

My oven method- big sheet of tin-foil, curled up at the edges with a cookie sheet underneath. Cook bacon, remove slices, and then once the foil is cool enough to handle, fold it so you can just pour the bacon grease into a jar. No mess, no dishes to clean up, no grease splatters, it's really the perfect way to make bacon imo.

i love this idea...how long and at what temp?
