The real hassle is getting the place ready to move in. So far i have had to file down holes in two metal doors to install deadbolts, which has ran me out of swear words. Last night i painted the largest ceiling in the house, didnt get back to the apartment till 1am.
I wanted to stay farther north, but the wife veto'd it. I ended up in Burlington as second choice, was trying for Wilmington, but there wasn't anything decent in our buying window. Everyone tells me how much they love our big "1/2 acre" lot but I used to have 2.5 acres off a lake in NH And it was across from conservation land.
I work in Boston so it makes sense I guess now that I got hitched and has kids.
same here, as it is we only got .37 acres i think with the new place. We really wanted wilmington, but anything decent was just too expensive. Even the junk there was expensive. I lived in an aprtment there for a few years.

Houses are so much more expensive than you think they are. We planned on it being about 2k to get the house liveable, ie blinds or window coverings, deposits on utilities, replacing some appliances, etc. , and were shocked when it went over that but were lucky to have a large chunk in savings, just in case. Be prepared for it being more than you originally thought! My mother in law did warn us!
Fortunately, my dad remodeled homes professionally for 20+ years, and I have some experience doing it myself. I've got an idea of the costs involved, and we've got more than enough to cover it.
Utility deposits will be unnecessary; the utilities are through the same companies I've used for all of my residences here, and they waive the deposits every time because I've never had a late payment
Lucky bastard. I had all new utility companies and even though I was never late on a payment to the previous companies they still wanted to rape me with deposits.
Hope the entire process is amazing for you!

its farm country, a really great farm fruit and veggies stand out there, and Flaming Geyser state park.
