as a kid i was fed braunschwager once and i insta-hated it due to the skin/wrapper - but as i grew older i found to like it and its cousin liverwurst very much

My father used to make liverwurst and mustard sandwiches and put bread and butter pickles (sweet, thin sliced pickles) in the sandwich too.
I loved those. Too bad they were far too messy to take to school.

You just described my absolute favorite sammich 
I just ate two of them.
I also like to take liverwurst, heat it in the microwave with equal amount of cream cheese, mix it up with some diced onions, diced pickles, and a splot of mustard....then eat it on Ritz crackers.  |
