ESPN, like any news source, feeds on what the majority of the public are interested it any any given time.

Both Tebow and Lin are some of the most polarizing figures in sports, so it only makes sense to focus on them.

Everything is opinion, and take it with a grain of salt. Some people get way too worked up about isht.

Everything is an opinion?

Wtf are you talking about?

Racial slurs are not acceptable "opinions". lol

ESPN is f****** retarded, this incident didn't prove to me how retarded they are, I knew long ago.

I stopped watching ESPN last year at the peak of Tebowmania, enough is enough.

Ah damn...I hate the hype but I gotta admit, Lin is pretty damn amazing.

28 points 12 assists on 11-19 shooting...WTF, this ain't no fluke

and 4 steals and 7 turnovers...still turns it over way too much

He turns it over a lot, but damn, 12 assists is a lot, and it seems like he has double figure assists every game.

Never seen a rookie point guard average 25 ppg 9 apg on 50% shooting before...

This can't last for long, if it does then give the MVP award to Lin.

i wasn't talking about the damn racial slur, but the ripping on ESPN in general. it's entertainment. the fact they focus on lin and tebow is b/c it gets people riled up, one way or another.

Ok well people think ESPN should be sports news, not an extension of the NY hype machine.

i get your point. the Lin craze is a combination of two things.

1) never has their before been an asian player in the NBA (besides Yao who was gifted with ginormous size) with this much talent.

2) NY hasn't even been in the conversation in a decade. if Lin were on another big market team like Boston/LA/Chicago, he'd be a story, but those teams have been good for a long time now. The fact that he's pretty much single-handedly turned around a franchise, combined w/ the fact he's asian... it's a huge story and deserves the hype.

He's probably a slight-better-than-average point guard but he's rejuvenated an entire team and city with his story. it's cool to see, and I'm no NY fan.
