Am I the only one that skipped through parts of the video wondering wtf was going on? There's some lion dude, and he's using abilities, and he dies, then he "fights to survive" and uses some more abilities.
What the hell is this video showcasing, and why should I be impressed?

It is showing functional, non-laggy, large scale, three faction pvp... on a scale that has not been seen since DAOC.
Granted with extremely low lvl chars.
If you are not into PVP on the epic scale or you didn't play DAOC (and enjoy it for these things).. Then this thread isn't really for you.

Is Guild Wars the one that you didn't need a subscription to play, only had to buy the game?

Correct and GW2 is the same in that regard, but the comparison between the two games end there. It is much more "MMO" than the first title was.

OP nailed it.
That reminded me 1000000% of the old days in DAOC.
Neat, might have to actually look into gw2.
Did they do away with the pure instanced world and make it a legit open environment ala daoc?
