I asked this one guy I was interviewing to tell me about himself, he started yammering on about his personal problems with his girlfriend. Don't do that.

Oh, and this has nothing to do with that, but one time I was interviewing a woman and she started digging for gold in her nose. I mean like 2nd knuckle kind of digging, and she checked the results on her finger before she wiped it on her pants. Eugh! Don't do that either.

Was she on unemployment? cause if she'd refused to interview with you she would have lost her unemployment.

They are looking for:

experienced, qualified and Interesting.

Give up some info about what you do outside of work, volunteer, mountain bike, skydive, sail, golf, stuff like that. Now is also the time to intrigue them, "I play in the mud in my spare time, eg, throw ceramics..."

This thread begs the question: do the "women" of ACF use a funnel to get that much sand in their vagina or do they just slide around the beach like an angry Roomba? -deadcactus-

I'm thinking a bit of personal information

But what do you think are some good things to include in this answer?

Age, something about where you grew up, perhaps a hobby you enjoy, penis size

What do you guys think?

They already know what is on your resume, they want to hear stuff about you that isn't on your resume.

What to YOU think of me?"

Write several interesting facts about yourself but don't ramble. I love to travel and spent a lot of time in "part of world". I also like to hunt "something. I am a connoisseur of wine music and women. Something like that.

Scan the interviewers office for signs of his hobbies (like a pic of him posing with a 30lbs bass or bowling trophies) Then conveniently make them your hobbies.

You'll better your chance at getting the job.

wul?

they just want to know if you are someone they and the rest can work with.

you can have all the knowledge in the world but if you are a stuck up know it all that would irritate the whole dept, you are pretty worthless

I usually list personal interests and hobbies that make me seem active, creative, and outgoing, and omit ones that they may question would have an effect on my job performance. I never tell interviewers that I'm a gamer (either virtual or not) and I never would, unless I was applying for a position at a game company. I often tell them that I'm outdoorsy and like to write fiction or draw in my spare time.

On the contrary, I've gotten several jobs based on playing the same game as either the interviewer, or other employees. They want to know that you have common interests. It's generally apparent if you're some kind of serious "no sleep" kind of gamer. I've always mentioned it in a casual way, and nobody has ever seemed to be deterred from hiring me because of gaming. I've even gotten interviews based solely on the fact that I worked on AC. A lot of times I think the interviewer wants to know what its like to work for a game company.
