I think the basics are.. Under 40ish K, needs to have Sirius/XM, needs to fit dogs and kid, no minivans.
Any MPG requirement? I have a good match already if MPG isn't a concern.
Better milage is better obviously. We probably wont be looking at anything with milage as bad as mine.

I think a Pilot may be too tall. Will check it out though.

Those Smart cars are scary, see them zipping around the Cities here. I'd be afraid of being crushed like a grape in one of those.
I was sitting next to a Smart car on my motorcycle. My motorcycle is LONGER than one of those smart cars!

It will easily fit in a normal sized garage, if that's the concern. If your garage was built by Oompa Loompas though, you better measure it.

Not a worry about the garage, more a worry that the dogs wont be able to get in or out if its too tall. They dont exactly have Jordan like verticle abilities.

Seriously though, you have a family with a young daughter. You have a couple of good size dogs. A mini van is the most reasonable option, yet you indicate no mini van. And you expect us to take this thread serious? When I know what I know about your family and you post something like this I think of Sith.
I have three (soon to be four) kids and a golden retriever, and I will NEVER own a minivan.

Low..ride..er..ride a little lower. So, you are ruling out all SUVs as well? I don't think there is really a such thing as a short SUV with a lot of room. What you are describing seems to be a station wagon, which is way dorkier than a mini van I hate to say it.

Tessa, don't count the Wrangler out yet. New for 2012 is a 5 speed automatic and a peppy little V6 that produces I think 280 HP and better mileage. The cost may still push it out, but it may be worth considering in light of the other things.
Cutt, just stop man. You are fixating.
