I would go to an extreme cold climate and on the way there gather all the food supplies i can get my hands on. The cold is good as the zombies would freeze up solid in the extreme cold saving ammo in the long run. Once the zombies freeze up, it is wood chipper time.

Waste of gas unless they reanimate when thawed and in that case I would just pile them up and make a bonfire.

I'm pretty much a solo act with family up the coast from me and more on the opposite coast so I would bug out and go mobil. It really wouldn't be that hard if you are talking slow, dumb, instinctive zombies. Gather fuel and an all terrain vehicle locally then travel cross country, avoiding populated areas and ranging out for supplies as I travel. It is mostly common sense and being careful but then it all really comes down to what kind they are, how they spread and how resilient they are (can they survive freezing, will scavengers eat them, will they eventually decay/starve, etc) as to how you would proceed.

See the biggest issue in prolonged SHTF situations is not so much the stuff that hit the fan, except in the immediate time right after - it's the REST OF THE PEOPLE you have to deal with. The people who are unprepared will do anything to survive when they are hungry and thirsty and frightened. You need a strategy to deal with them effectively or they will simply kill you if it lets them live 5 more minutes...

I have limited guns and ammo, but enough outdoors experience to survive. All my friends are major hunters with uber remote cabins in deep south west Texas. Wells, springs, creeks would mean plenty of water and meat. Not sure about veggies....

That is why I would go solo and cross country. There is so much rural outside the cities and most of it has the kinds of tools/supplies you would need (fuel, tools, food, etc). That and solo is less drama and easier to GTFO if things get squirrelly.

People aren't going to just let you loot their supplies if they're holed up themselves and trying to wait it out or just get by... think about it a bit...

Plenty of places and plenty of time. Empty/abandoned/overrun won't be all that hard to find and 1 person doesn't need much to survive. I'm smart enough to manage on my own as long as I keep moving.

This thread begs the question: do the "women" of ACF use a funnel to get that much sand in their vagina or do they just slide around the beach like an angry Roomba? -deadcactus-
