OK say you and your life are "transported" into the Walking Dead world, what would you do? Do you think you could survive?
By life I mean family/friends/people that you see on a regular basis.
Would your group survive or die?
What would be your goal.

I would load up my jeep with everything I needed or could carry and head to Oklahoma City and try to find my daughters.
Its 2 hours away at interstate speed.

Then head to the hills or find me a island to live on.

If it happened to me right now, from my current living setup, I and my family would survive. We would be well armed, well supplied, and skilled in surviving "outdoors".

Incidentally, I think a perhaps optimal Zombie Apocalypse weapon for "new" shooters might just be the Kel-Tech sub 2000 in either 9mm or 40 - no difference for me. That firearm is nice and light, can hold large capacity magazines (uses standard Glock mags), and has a pretty easy effective range of 100 yards with solid accuracy. It's easy to use and easy to carry and 9mm ammo is pretty much ubiquitous.

the plus about walking dead zombies they are slow/shuffling zombies. so as long as you have a semi auto weapon with a decent sized mag you will be ok. hell even a .22 rifle could do the trick and they are quite.

so you dont need full auto unless there is a horde of them.

if they are 28 days later or last man on earth zombies than well your screwed unless you have some type of armored vehicle.

What I would do is load up my Cherokee with all the modern guns I have and all the ammo I have on hand, as well as some camping and basic first aid gear with food and water purification stuff and two full 5 gal gas cans. I might even grab my reloading press and dies. I can load that all up in about 15 minutes if I had to.

From there I would go into a few out of the way gun stores I know and procure all the reloading stuff I could get, and make for my brother in law's hunting camp in the mountains.

It's fairly remote and while I would have to deal with possible marauding non-zombies, their numbers would be fairly low, and there would be VERY limited zombie infiltration out there.

There are a number of clean mountain springs there, and TONS of game to hunt and eat. It also has an outdoor crapper and indoor running water and a propane tank for heat and cooking.

My goal would be to wait out the worst of it for the first 6 months or so, and then to see what I could find in the way of other groups of people looking to deal with all the zombies and whatnot.

I have access to a hunting cabin that has all the amenities needed to provide comfortable survival, that is 45 mins off the nearest dirt road and you have to have a least a stock 4x4 truck to get to it.

plus their is a creek and a couple springs around for water.

I really need to pick up a How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse handbook.

Honestly if I had access to something more in the South, I would head there. Wintering with limited propane and fuel in the mountains of Central Pennsylvania is a rather bleak prospect. The amount of wood needed to keep the place heated in that cold would be brutal.
