Since a shortened lifespan isn't enough of a reason for much of the population, I'm wondering what would be enough of a reason for ACF.

Actually -- it isnt red meats that are the problem -- They did a pretty recent study on red meat and the numbers came up that red meat wasnt bad so long as you didnt way overdo it. Processed meat on the other hand came up as nasty...

What is interesting is if you look at it logically you could have probably figured that out decades ago -- I mean cavemen ate tons of meat. They didnt eat processed meat. Which is most likely to be a problem to modern man? Our bodies have a long genetic history of being able to eat meat... It doesnt have the same for the processed stuff.

A serving a day of red meat can overdo it, though I have no doubt that could be hedged with lots of vegetables and herbs.

But lets face it, in America a serving isn't a serving, it's a heart attack's worth of food, and it's being served up with loads of sodium, sugars, additional fat, and a minimum of vegetables.

Also cavemen had crappy lifespans. Cavemen are not role models.

In all reality, I eat very little meat at all. I use a few of strips of bacon in cooking every week (maybe 4 or 5) and I eat beef or pork twice a month or so in any quantity (I do have soups and stews that contain beef or pork more often than that however).

My main sources of protein are quinoa (I eat it at least 5 times a week), tuna (3 times a week), salmon (twice a week). I'm also currently at the best BMI of my life (21.7). I weigh under 180lbs for the first time since boot camp. If I was healthy and not a gimp, I'd be studly and stuff.
