Apparently only this friend feels you're socially obligated to throw a party because you're turning 30.
You're not. When she asks again, tell her that you and Wolfz are just going out for a quiet night or whatever will shut her up about the party. If you need to, tell her you're not throwing a party, flat out.

Strangely it's been more than one friend, but yeah i've been basically saying that i dont really want a party and leaving it at that.

I haven't done fk all for most of my parties for the last 33, so won't be any different on Wednesday. 34 and boring, yay!

I, as well, hate it when people want to spend time with me, celebrate me, and possibly give me stuff without wanting anything in return.
It is just awful.

It may come off as odd, given how i dont shy away from attention here, but i actually hate being the centre of attention on real life. I love planning birthday parties for people, but i hate having parties thrown for me/ throwing parties for myself. I just dont feel comfortable asking people to come over, feel obligated to give me stuff etc etc. I'd rather the day just passed into the ether lol

Lol don't throw a party then. Have a "get together" for their sake and it's come if you want or whatever.
No planning involved except when.

I think we should ALWAYS have birthday parties with cake, candles, etc. Why did we have to give that up when we grew up? It was a lot more fun eating cake and getting presents than pretending like I don't want a party since I'm old.
