Apparently im socially obligated to throw a party because im turning 30

My friends keep saying to me "So when's your party going to be?". And the truth is, the only people i want at any birthday party is my family, and since they cant be there im really not interested. My ideal birthday i would either go out for a meal with Wolfz, or we'd stay home, drink wine and cook something nice on the grill. No faffing about. Why does everybody assume that 30 means party?

Both my wife and I went to Hawaii when we turned 30. I guess anyone could have joined and made it a party but I was in Hawaii, which was the important part.

I don't plan on having a party for my 30th. I will however be treating myself and wife to a nice excellent steak dinner.
