found it, it was one box somewhere in there.

so someone like me who only needs insurance if a piano lands on me can sign up in no time while people who need it more than anyone just get rejected :/

Oddly enough, were I to walk into any doctor's office and have them run a complete full body medical workup on me it would come back with nothing remarkable. Apparently that doesn't matter though. Just crap from the past. I only want it for the piano scenario myself.

And yes Jezza I agree...

but they can run statistics and show that two "semi-related" previous conditions totally ruins the statistical likelihood that you will ever pay more premiums than you will receive in coverage/benefits in the future.

If people would only understand that the time to get insurance is when you are healthy, not when you have an illness. Insurance is for people who plan ahead.

We don't allow our insurance carriers to do this crap, we regulate them, and guess what we pay less in premiums too.

But you so called conservatives, must enjoy being rammed up the ass, all in the name of opposing Obama, so why don't we call this a benefit.

if only i had the same job from when I was a fetus, the parasite~

Seriously. Everyone is born healthy and should have made the right choice of carrier when they were born. Bad baby!

....Oh, you mean the PARENT should have been the responsible, informed one who had "coverage" for the family. The one who got fired from a good career because a diagnosis in the family now made him a financial liability,(yes this happened).

Insurance is a scam as long as it is run as a profit business and dependent on your employer.

yep, send BT on and after he gets a job back east and you are all covered, then sell the house and and quit.

dude anytime i get seen by my prosthetist for any reason, i get a packet of paperwork to fill out regarding them wanting to sue the profanity out of someone else to pay for it. and every time i skip the whole thing and write in that it was the result of being born and if they send me this fking packet one more time, i will murder their children. the next time they send me one i'm going to go into intricate detail on how i would murder their children.

I can only imagine I dread any of those packets as it is but it is rare I have to fill them out. That is painful enough.

What I learned about those Packets Sarena, is that if you can check yes to anything in the first section, you're excluded, don't even bother trying.

If you have been without insurance for more than 6 months, you can maybe get on the state version for pre-exisiting.

http://www.healthcare.gov/law/features/choices/pre-existing-condition-insurance-plan/nv.html

yours is a HELL of a lot cheaper than ours... a $2500 deductible plan for just me is $335 a month.

I'm not without. I carry our group policy right now with my job but I am trying desperately to quit so that I can get this house ready to sell and clear out a bunch of crap we don't need anymore and then go house hunting back east near family. (that and there is a whole blog about what is going on at my work that compounds the desperation) I don't want to quit and end up doing something stupid like accidentally chopping a finger off while fixing dinner and end up bankrupting the family. I keep telling them that I only need the policy until BT finds a job back east that has bennies. That should only take a few months tops. I even tried for student insurance since I am taking a class right now and they don't even get back to me I am going with a broker now to see if he can help somehow. Talk about a PITFA.

You should still be eligible for COBRA even if you quit.

I get to fill out those BS 300 page packets over and over again. I even offer to sign a rider to exclude any pre-existing conditions and still get rejected but am told "ou have the right to appeal the decision". I flat out asked one lady at United Health if she knew if any of the appeals ever got approved and she honestly replied "rarely, I am so sorry".

The really annoying part is that they are lumping two completely separate health issues together because they can be construed as both being neurological. (I had brain surgery back in 2008 and then this last October I when to a chiro because my neck and back were kinked up from stress at work...)

It is the ONLY thing keeping me from being able to quit my job which is the primary reason I have health issues to begin with. Talk about irony

Health insurance isn't a right. If those companies can't profit off of you, then you don't deserve insurance. You should pay for your bills out of pocket, and shop around comparing the medical services offered.
