CA went crackhead with the kids though. They just RAISED the carseat/booster age to 8 years old!
Lots of parents had to go rebuy booster seats for older kids.

A co-worker of mine has a belt that looks like a seatbelt, so if a cop looks inside it looks like he's wearing a lap belt (of course you can't put it through the belt loops in your pants, or it would be too obvious):
It would be so LOL if your co-worker was killed in a minor accident and they pulled him out of the vehicle by his fake seat belt.

alot of states did that Utah did up to 5 feet tall or 100 pounds my ten year old daughter "legally" need to be in a booster. profanity when i was 6 i was riding around in the back of a van playing board games on family trips

When I was a kid cars didn't even have seatbelts and we are still here  I can't imagine not using them, but...

Im not sure that seat belts are what make people safe people used to be a lot better drivers if we made everyone learn to drive in a car that was no power steering manual trans and no power brakes people would be better drivers or they would drive at all.

The reality is that it gives them an almost iron clad reason to pull a lot of people over to check their cars for other illegal activity.

Which is stupid stupid stupid. So how many little people (midgets, whatever the term is nowadays) have to be in booster seats? Hell I would have had to be in one until I was fourteen years old if that was the case. I didn't hit 100 lbs or 5' until then. My sister is only 4'll". She'd STILL have to be in one. I can see age requirements, because of skeletal growth and all that, but not arbitrary height/weight reqs.
