if it was truly under accidentally circumstance, then yes I would feel differently.
getting drunk, then drag racing down a public highway and killing someone is both ignorant and inexcusable.

I have no sympathy for drunk drivers. I've been drunk off my ass before and the most obvious fact to me was that I was in no shape to operate a vehicle. To get behind the wheel of a car while drunk shows a complete disregard for safety.

There's levels of drunkenness though. You may have been piss-drunk but this guy may have been just slightly drunk where he thought he was okay to drive. See, those kinds of drunks are much more dangerous. The ones who underestimate their drunkenness and overestimate their ability to act sober, those are the dangerous ones.
