I walked outside of my winter retreat and was blown up but I didn't take any damage.
All I heard was TTsssSsssssss BOOM!
Now there is a big hole in my work that I have to fix. I spider proofed the wall because I like open roof designs but I guess I'll have to build a water trap around my premises to keep out teh creep.

I saw serious performance issues during rapid travel (warping, home, nether, etc), some of our plugins are no longer being actively developed so are either not in a working state or are not as polished as I would like them, many things changed on the config side (mostly permissions) that would require lots of work on my end to get the new version up to speed, it would break the mapping tools... those are the main points. Couple that with a lack of time and desire at this moment and we'll stick with 1.2 for now.

I completely agree with your decision to stay at 1.2. An update now would wreak havoc on the server. Aside from that, 1.3 didn't really offer much for SMP. Sure the repeaters would be nice but they aren't worth mucking up the server for.
