Stealth runs through Dire Maul North is largely what kept my wife and I playing this game. While on our druid/rogue combo, someone messaged me and asked if I'd be interested in trying a stealth run. We chatted a bit, found out they, too, were a married couple playing a druid/rogue combo... and over the next few months we became great friends. 4-manned all the 5 man content in the game, and had a lot of fun figuring out what we could and couldn't skip with the all stealther group.
Alas, they have a bunch of kids now and too many responsibilities to play, something we lament regularly. But Dire Maul will always be special for that reason. And, really, Dire Maul North stealth runs were some of the funnest 5-man content ever made in the game.

jk, <3 hunters who knew how to kite, manage their pets and trap correctly back in the day. They were few and far between and absolutely priceless when you found one.
Yeah, they were/still are my favorite class, probably always will be. Ranged + Pet, always loved classes like that. I haven't played one in ages though.
That will be what I am going to do in Cataclysm, start playing again, and playing a Hunter. Hopefully there's a new server I can roll on
There's always been a lot of Hunters, and almost none of them any good at playing them.
I can remember kiting Phantim to Org to watch him kill tonnes of people. Good times. I got threatened with a ban after doing that 5+ times. Blizzard, killing fun since 2004!

Still have my Quel'Serrar you get from the purple book quest chain in there.
That was a very cool sword. I had a friend that invested a lot time to get it and it was totally worth it, especially on a gnomish warrior. Of course, everything looked awesome on a gnomish warrior in vanilla.
My main is a lock, so I remember the summonable boss in West quite fondly. That was a fun event that I don't think a lot of people ever saw.

I often played a hunter so would end up kiting Drak back to The Beasts room
A competent hunter?

Indeed, you needed a hunter who could agro a offtank mob and freeze him in the room before the Beast. Blackrock Mountain in general was great. Scholomance was actually quite difficult when it launched and felt like an accomplishment when you cleared it. I think Zul Farrak doesn't get enough credit. Great instance for that point in the levelling grind.

ZF was cool and had a couple of fun events in it. I agree with the sentiment that it was an excellent diversion from outdoor leveling during the level range where you pick up the quests for it.
ZF also incorporated part of the tablets quest chain into it too, right? I remember having to run it a few times and I think that was the reason why.

My alt 80 is a druid, so I've been there and done that too. It's nice to find a good rogue to play with. Like hunters, competent rogues are few and far between, but can be awesome in the hands of the right person and fun to play with.

Deadmines and SFK.
I remember doing part of the Paladin weapon quest in SFK as Alliance. My Verigan's Fist is still in the bank.
Just getting over there was a trek in those early days.
Mithan mentioned Sunken Temple, for some reason, that one reminds me of AC1, one of those Scalvus dungeons, lol.
Out of the higher level ones, definitely BRD hands down.

I officially despise Scholomance. Been trying to complete it all weekend, can't keep a group together.
