What's funny is that when I hit 84, I was so caught up in the flow of things that I looked down and saw 9 million and change to cap, and I thought "damn, this is gonna be a long level."

I'm shocked to be 83 already, going very fast indeed. To play devil's advocate though, I would it be a little on the side of too fast than lose another 40ish hours of my life in tree groups in Lyonesse just to get 49 to 50.

What bothers me is that no one addressed the fact that the title of this thread is tantamount to blasphemy.

I'm pretty sure sitting down and playing 9 hours is not defined as casual play time.

Sad thing is, they really think it is here.

Admittedly, that doesn't come across as casual... I have 17.5 days leave remaining this year, excluding the Xmas period which I already have 10 days booked off, plus I cannot take time off in Jan because I manage a critical business process. HENCE, I have 12.5 days to take next week and the whole of Feb... I said I wouldn't, but I actually did take Wednesday off for some WOW love!! I haven't played since and I would say that my 'general' playtime is 2-4 hours a week.

BUT... the point was, that in 9 hours of relaxed playing, defined as:

- questing (and reading the quest log as I go)

- random PVP (on a PVP server)

- leveling herbology as I go (I won't level Alchemy until I hit 85, I may even sell the herbs to start with)

- a few points in Archeology to see what it was like

- a bit of flying around Hyjal/Azshara/Orig

- scanning the AH a couple of times

- Jumping into 3/4 dungeon runs (purely based on DF queue)

and ofc making lunch, coffee's, a couple of call's, an online meeting, driving to store... so perhaps 6/7 hours of actual gaming.

To hit 2.5 levels out of 5 in that time seems... fast! The first level was extremely fast, maybe 2/2.5 hours - I did half an hour of quests, then jumped in the DF queue which including the quests just about finished off the level.

My dealer says I am not addicted... blah blah blah....

You are not alone here, many do think 8-10 hours of gaming a day is casual. I used to as well until I woke up.

If you think my opinion is idiotic, re-read yours.
Dont worry I will give my opinion anyways.
The PvP MMO is NOT a "niche" market, Mythic is just a "niche" company.

I didn't say I wasn't addicted, I said I was casual! it is a kinda casual addiction... like smoking a spliff occasionally and then going to Amsterdam for the weekend!

I've played this game since release. VN Boards and WOWHEAD are two of my most visited sites (they are both allowed at work) and I frequently fantisise about "frost nova'ing" my place of work... even though I truely don't log in game that often.

You guys never tookt eht ime to define what level too fast means! You have ot define that before we can have an arguemnt! Otherwise we'll be discecting different definitions!

Experience gain is through through the roof imo. Big xp fom quests, xp bonus from BoA items, rested xp, xp gained from gathering, xp gained from pvping. Folks who stuck their nose to the screen made it to 85 in six hours and you're worried aobut his 2.5 levels in 8 hours being labeled casual?

Yeah, it was a serious achievement when you hit 70 in TBC. Hitting 80 in Wrath was also pretty tough / long. If hey had raised the cap to 90 instead of 85 people would still be reaching it in a day rather than just a week!!

Was up for 44 hours and hit 85. It would have been 1/2 that time if I didn't jump right into the zones @ the start (major competition on a 35K pop server). Also, being a GM, I had ~15 conversations open in WIM with recruits, officers, etc.
