The only place I've read that it's an FPS was Boubouille and he said he was just hoping/guessing it was and had no basis in fact or theoryfacting.

I call BS on the "akin to Counterstrike" part. MMO's and Counter-Strike will never work. Other MMOFPS games have been mediocre at best, but Blizzard will probably make it work.

Planetside was epic, well before they screwed it all up of course. Dont think ive ever played a mmo with more intense fights than 100v100v100 in base fight. No monsters, no crap, just pure PvP.

As I recall, this rumor began after Halo MMO failed and some of the members fell into Blizzard's camp. But, a better explanation can be found here:

I would like a well done Sci-Fi MMO. Anarchy Online was the closest I've played so far, and it had a LOT of right along with its wrong.
