Armor is THE most basic class restrction in Paper DND, which is what all of these games are based on.
Weapon restrictions are a close second..but when you have two classes that can use the same type of weapon, the Armor that is allowed to be worn tells the tale.

Again, Paper rules, Mages can only use cloth armor...
Warriors can use any armor (plate is best protection, so they always wear that) but can use magic wands....
We wont bring paladins( or clerics) into it(hybrids)..just stick with the rogue/ warrior/ mages for now.

Notice i said if its cloth or leather, 99% of the time it would be rogue?
No rule says a warrior cannot wear leather. Every rule says a rogue cannot wear plate.

next, if agility is the main stat(that directly affects damage, critical strike etc.), call it a rogue...
If STR is the main stat (that directly affects damage etc) call it a warrior.
Mix with this weapon restrictions..
Rogues typically only use daggers, or light one handed swords. (one in each hand is fine) In paper DND
In WOW, light axes and light maces are also allowed.
Rogues cannot use 2-handed weapons.
Warriors can use ANY weapon. They are, after all, warriors.

druids can only use blunt weapons,(which means no daggers) and cannot wear chain or plate.
Rogues don't(cannot) use them(2 handers) because they are too bulky.

all I'm doing is trying to exclude games with emphasized warrior gameplay. So I do not need to focus on rogues, only on getting rid of warriors.
And btw, what if the game allowed you to use both daggers and 2h weapons. like druids. I don't think druids are warriors.

It means take them both into consideration...
Just becasue a char has high agility, does not mean it is 100% rogue.
Just because a char has high str, does not mean 100% that it is warrior.
High strength, plus swings a 2 handed sword? definately warrior.
High strength, wielding 2 daggers? Could be either...wearing plate? definately warrior. Wearing leather? could be both.
Get the point?
If toon is able at all to wield plate, it is a warrior. #1 check right here.
2-handed pointed or sharpened weapons, definately a warrior.
