Combat is like Nathan Drake kinda rogue--not usually very sneaky.

PS:
From my son looking over my shoulder:
One has combo points. And the other has a rage bar. <rolleyes>
From a game mechanics/ability
Rogues have more crowd control (vanish, sap, kidney shot, gouge, blind), while the warrior plows in.
Warriors have more AoE (able to affect larger number of mobs at the same time.) Rogues tend to struggle a little more in that area.

rogues/warriors do exist in other vid games buddy.
So how would you differentiate games like Dante's Inferno and Devil May Cry 4 with rogues and warriors?
why would drake be rogue and not warrior o.o
The comparison you are attempting to make is like comparing apples to granite...or debating what type of cheese the moon is made of..
Some things just do not have a direct comparison...stop trying.

I would not bother differentiating because (A) I'm not writing a paper and do not need to answer your question (B) I have never heard of those games (C) Have played other MMOs with melee toons and (D) have chosen to continue currently playing WoW with warriors and rogues described as above

so to generalize it, the best way of differentiating between a warrior and a rogue is strength and agility right? So basically if a game emphasizes more on agility and speed then it is more roguish, if on the other hand more on strength and killing upfront, then warrior right?
Basically, 1 being roguish and 10 being warrior.
on a scale of 1-10, anything that falls from 1-5 is rogue, and 6-10 is warrior?
No. Only for WOW. Any wild ass comparisons you want to make with any other platform is all on you.

It's not that simple. A rogue also has to kill its opponent fairly quickly, while a warrior is better suited to survive a protracted fight.
How about this:
1-3 is a subtlety or assasination specced rogue
4-6 is a combat specced rogue
5-7 is a warrior specced for damage with a 2-hand weapon
8-10 is a tank specced warrior with a shield
still too simple, but maybe sets your intuition better
Good luck with your term paper. Making things black and white when really they're complex and in shades of grey is, well, uneducated.

Rogue:
1. a dishonest, knavish person; scoundrel.
2. a playfully mischievous person; scamp: The youngest boys are little rogues.
3. a tramp or vagabond.
Warrior:
1. a person engaged or experienced in warfare; soldier.
2. a person who shows or has shown great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness, as in politics or athletics.
Nathan Drake is a scoundrel and treasure hunter, a paragon of at least some rogue stereotype. Not a soldier. Not to mention he uses stealth from time to time (but its never very important), which is why he is a the daredevil combat rogue and not a sneaky assassin.

who said I was doing a term paper. Since when do people do term papers on video games >.<
that makes it even more complicated >.<
So when would that overlap occur.
is there a better way to do it besides agility and strength.
Why are you asking?
Because at this point, (earlier for some), you can be seen as coming off as deliberately obtuse, annoyingly focused on a specific answer (yet unasked), or a troll.
