all these other references to other games...play one and you will see how they play out...not that difficult. LVL up combat or ass. rogues are easy mode on the lvling.

Back in the day agility, critical, and attack power were the prime stats for rogues. Don't know if attack power is out now, but I do know agility and critical are still the way for most rogues.

I don't really have the game  I just wanted to find more about the rogue class in general since this seemed to be one of the more rare mmo's that allowed rogues to use axes, maces, w/e.
So basically the primary thing is agility and speed for a combat rogue right?
For any rogue, in WOW, agility is the main stat.
Strength is the main stat for a warrior.
All abilities stream from the main stat...Ie Rogues get damage, x number of points of attack power, dodge, etc for each point of agility...
Warriors obtain damage, x number of points of attack power, and block % (if they are using a shield) from each point of str....

Assassination spec gives you bonuses to the "Ambush" ability...which requires stealth, and being behind the target.
You could figure all of this out with the free trial..
or, look up a rogue on the armory, and read the "talents" of each spec.

In WOW (and I have, and still refuse to equate with any other game)..warriors acquire dodge from items (but only if they are going to be a tank, the other two warrior specs are damage only, and require zero dodge)...
Rogues acquire it from the Agility stat, which gets to be so high at maxlevel they never need to get dodge from items. (because of stacking agility)
