I could suffer through the occasional weirdo..

Some things are just better said, than typed...especially in the middle of combat.

I can see how it would enhance the total random PUG experience though. But be careful about what you ask for too... it means you gonna have to listen to everybody speaking. Everybody. Including the 14 year old brat in green gear who thinks he's the next lich king.

There is a gear check for all instances so how is green gear an issue ? and I doubt all 14 year olds are brats.

Agreed that WoW asshats come in all ages, but many ppl just buy whatever gear they don't plan to use but has high ilevel in order to bypass the ilevel req. That ilevel system is a piece of crap.

Anyway, that said, yes I would like to see a voice chat requirement as well, but I've been called an elitist for saying it before as well, and the preponderance of that criticism, even on this board, tells me that my suspicions about the rarity of "PuG" players who play like you do, are accurate.

Calling someone an "elitest" is just a defense mechanism for players who want WoW to be like farmville. As a society, we've taught people that they can be rewarded for mindless tasks, which is an unfortunate problem that has permeated many other aspects of our general lives. Tune something to lowest common denominator and you get a lower quality player/person ... and more of them. Good for the business, bad for the few players who really care.
