There is no mechanic in any current heroic that requires more than a twitter post to explain. IF you are so inept at basic keyboard use and/or reading comprehension that this is a problem for you (note this you is not addressed at anyone in this thread but rather the imaginary dBag in question), I seriously doubt I want to run a dungeon with you.

Why does there need to be a problem to use a more efficient method of communication?

How hard is it to mail a letter?

How many letters do you mail now a days where you could send an e-mail instead?

There is a quicker response time if you can 'hear' that a mob has changed targets, or that a Pat is coming your way, rather then having to keep an eye on your chat and read it.

Is it hard the other way? No. Is it easier and quicker to just 'say' what you want to say rather then have to type it out? Yes.

It's as simple as that.

I don't and won't use voice chat. Not even installed on this PC. That's because I have used them, and know that I don't like them. I spent much of my time trying to adjust the volume and muting the guy listing desserts and then saying if he does or does not like them.

I doubt I'm the only one that would prefer the TV/music/(gasp) the game sounds to people on vent.

Cawlin, you don't give the average PuG player enough credit imo.

Edit: Not that that's surprising.

I guess your views make a little more sense than as well. I also expect that people entering the DF queue are there to be part of a team and do everything possible to help that team succeed. That has been my experience in the overwhelming majority of the groups I have pugged. (I would assume hundreds of times?)

Mostly, I just refuse to believe that the average person is so inept and uncaring that they can really be that much worse at such an easy game. There is no skill in WoW. There is no "talent" for WoW. I just give everyone the benefit of the doubt. If you care enough to pay your $15 per month, I assume you care enough to give it at least a marginal effort..... until you give me a reason to think otherwise.

Think about what you both consider "the average".

Now remember that half the people are worse than that.

I have PuGged considerably more than most of you think, probably more than many of you have PuGged yourselves.

I have been in two guild groups since Ulduar came out. Granted I took some time off of the game in there, but I've also leveled about 300 levels worth on several characters with heavy (almost exclusive) use of the dungeon finder, and obtained 5k+ GS on 3 characters, pre Cata.

All I know is I play almost solely through PuG'ing, with a multitude of alts (I imagine I play similarly to Gutter, PvP-minded and a stable of alts), and my success rate is far above any failures I've seen. Otherwise I would've stopped ramming my head into the wall ages ago... which reminds me, playing BGs as Alliance is giving me that exact feeling and wholly reminding me why I rolled Horde back before the Burning Crusade released.

I have played almost solely through PuGging as well for a good bit over a year now.

As for BGs and such, meh, I haven't seriously PvPed since I think Season 3.

Voice wouldn't have to be required by all, per se, just a button you could press that put you in a group with only people with voice enabled.

And of course, this would require Blizzards VC to actually be worth a crap..

It would have to be both.

Agreed.

I've never used/will not use voice chat in a PUG.

I do sometimes hop in vent when doing things with my guild, but even that tires me out at times and I can mute people there if I feel the need.
