its horrible how all the people are joining dungeon finder heroics in their pvp gear these days. the whole ilvl thing is horribly done. considering resil is on every single piece of pvp gear and its absolutely useless in pve, its almost worse than wearing quest greens for that kind of situation.

Eh, not really. The banjos, lack of teeth, and the whole married to their brothers and sisters thing tends to give them away.

By the way, there is an old exploit since WG days.

Even when you are not in the BG, you can still get the winning reward of 3 badges + 1890 honor by moving into the zone just as the battle ends.

This is done via dancing around the border of TB battleground and TB peninsular -- usually the bridge area, or can also be done at the water below.

Whenever you move over the border into BG (and you are not actually in the BG game), you are giving x amount of time before the BG system boot you out of the place. To be specific, you get 20 secs if you have not queued for TB, and only 10 secs if you queued but didn't get in.

You will then need to find someone in the BG to update you on how much longer the game will end. For example, "2/3 capped and 3rd is about to flip in 20 secs". Start dancing in-and-out at the border, and if you are inside the BG zone as the game ends, you will get the full reward too.

Unlike the allied sissies, the horde does not enjoy losing.

Sometimes, it isn't about the 1800 gained by the Horde, but the 1800 honor denied the Alliance.

Kinda like PVPing over hunting areas on DT...it's simple resource control..

I'm surprised this didn't get posted earlier, people have been farming TB on my server since the day they "hotfixed" it. Everybody immediately realized that.. hey, free honor for all, logged on alts on other faction, spammed trade to wintrade & GG everybody wins happily for forever after.

Except for those people who happen to be on crappy computers that play at 1 fps slideshow when there's a zerg of trillion people at the bridge.

Well Allied does not enjoy losing either but they have become accustomed to it which is something the Horde side has never had to deal with.

Most players are pissed about the situation on both sides, but also most prefer it this way so everybody has a chance to do the dailies and instance, than the other way where it's impossible to take it back unless the defenders are afk. At least the place changes hands every two hours, instead of every two days when lucky.
Its the best of two evils.

I play both horde and alliance on the server where my toons are. My horde toons have done more PvP over the ages. I only caught on to the 1800 honor thing a while after it was rolling, due to working on leveling yet another toon to 85.

Anyways ... there was considerable debate raging in the horde guild my folks are in as to the "honor" of losing ... or letting the alliance win. Whatever, the pure math of it makes it a good strategic choice to "let" the other side win so your side can attack the next time. "Letting" them win is a matter of concern to some people. I can appreciate that. I usually go in and try to kill no matter what side I am on. Since I am usually on with a hunter as horde that doesn't mean a whole lot ... sort of like a gnat pecking at their ears.

Then there was discussion about Blizzard will find out and ban people for throwing matches. Uh, WTF? Blizzard is the one who set this up by making such an adjustment. And it doesn't surprise me at all. I don't remember when was the last time they did anything with a battleground where it proved out to be a great design.

All these years into the life of the game, and when it comes to PvP you get the feeling they just throw darts at a spinning board to come up with the next great solution.

*shrug* For the time being, I will continue to try and play one of my toons on whatever faction is attacking in TB. Can't always make that with the queues being as screwy as they are.
