It is open world pvp without a single instance. I loved it.
It is cruel and unfair at times. I loved it.
There were not huge patches that changed how your class played month to month. I loved it.
PvE was something you did to level and get gear. It wasn't the focus of the game. I loved it.

I wonder if there will be a graphic overhaul. It is kinda dated.

Mind if you (or anybody else ) can give us more detail on the game itself. I missed the chance of playing the game. Same goes with Asherons Call. Looks like those two games were epic at times, but I missed it due to playing Daoc mainly.

The last thing I heard about Shadowbane was something like "chinese players killed Shadowbane" for whatever reason °-°.

=D China Nation, lovingly referred to as CN in game effectively did ruin the game because they had far superior teamwork. Because gaming to them takes on a whole new level of business than it does with us, they are able for the most part to put aside their differences and work together to zerg everyone else off the map. When the rst of the server could put aside their differences and do CN vs rest of the server, the pvp battles were days long and epic as all hell.

It explains why they bought the IP from ubisoft and why the guys who are currently working on it have renamed it Play to Crush, which used to be part of the login to the game.

Remember a lot of people quitting after waking up and finding their cities destroyed. Didn't it turn into a few massive groups ruling a server or something like that? Vague memories.

Not sure at what point you played, that sounds like release when no one knew what banestones were/did. You had plenty of warning that your city was going to be sieged and you had the time of when to set the defense clock so people 'waking up to find their cities gone' is a bit extreme.

Uh, CN was a pain in the ass because their bane windows were always during our off hours for obvious reasons.

Right... that has little to do with my statement though. Our bane windows were just as much an issue for them yet they still managed to get it done.

Maybe my memory is spotty but when they came to Corruption their timezone stuff resulted in a constant stalemate with limited asset destruction...Didn't play Wrath though, that might be why I don't remember their 'wins'.

Could be. After getting into open beta I kind of joined the majority of people and left in disappointment when I realized it was a point and click MMO that had you get stuck on every tiny pebble on the way with far too frequent SB.EXE CTD's. It certainly had it's cool things, but it just wasn't at all what I wanted in a MMO at the time.

That was the time when I personally considered MMO's to be on a dead end track (SB was kind of the ray of hope till then but after the endless delays it just didn't feel up to snuff).

I was in Beta for SB and I loved the game. However the whole time in Beta I was thinking "no way they are going into launch with a point and click system.."

Well come launch game was still point and click. I unsubscribed immediately and never went back.

That being said im so damn bored with WoW I will probably check it out again.

I loved Shadowbane for the first 6 months or so.

Tried going back when I heard it was free(over a year ago). Couldn't get back into it, just wasn't the same.

I played a stealing Thief first, then made a new Thief mainly specced for killing. Easier to steal from someone when they're dead.

Stealing all sorts of stuff from a grinding group was really fun, though.

I went back when it went F2P, but I just couldn't deal with the horrendous point and click controls anymore.
