It is if those whom were " face rolling 10k" on their keyboards at 80 are barely doing 2k at 81.
It is when you consider most that still play that tree have to use an add-on to tell them what to cast to generate any meaningful DPS because of its all over the board WHACK-A-MOLE type of rotation priorities.
If you are doing 2k at 81 with a ret pally, you need to stop playing the ret pally. Please.

Also, keep in mind that Ret is getting some changes in 4.06, especially with changing the Mastery mechanic from the "whack a mole" proc to a percentage increase in holy damage dealt.
Pallys as a whole are still a great class. I personally can live with middling DPS in Ret in exchange for good tanking and healing specs.

It's interesting how many people want their class to "do it all". I think I shall start bitching about how poorly my Rogue heals......

Riiiiiight, that's exactly the same thing. Last I saw, you weren't able to spec into being a resto rogue.

I would actually say to quit WoW altogether! It takes an incompetence never before imagined to be that bad.

not that it matters. this post is moot. retadins were very overpowered in wrath. they are now mediocre on the dps charts rather than at the top of them. plenty of other classes, even dps specific classes, come in under them on dps. so while people might bitch that their class is nerfed there is absolutely nothing to back up the claim that they're the worst dps right now and plenty of information that proves otherwise.
The link shows that retadins are directly under elemental.

I have to make a slight amendment to my previous post. I can live with middling DPS, however I would REALLY like to know at least what kind of rotation/priority I should be using, because right now I am just playing "whack a mole" and running around in circles o.0

Can't have ret paladins doing the best dps.
They have the best defensive cooldowns in the game. Giving a class that has great defensive abilities super dps as well was just plain idiotic. There has to be a trade off somewhere. If they are lower on the totem pole... well they should be.
They needed to ramp them down in LK and never did.
Or in the absence of nerfing damage they could have created some kind of lore thing where if you chose ret you lost the ability to bubble. Which would have met with even greater outcries of dismay.
