Well I am close to ordering the game, haven't quite decided. It certainly can look pretty at times. The 3 roles per character seems a bit rushed, as in getting a bit too early to make a good 3rd choice unless you just troll gaming sites for all the latest "in" builds.

DNS problem on the internet.
Perhaps they changed their IP addresses and your ISP's DNS is just slow in getting the updates.

Well this is troubling indeed. I can always pre-order it through steam luckily enough. What are the monthly rates going to be like? And what is the deal with these founder rates?
Pre-order/founder rates allow you to subscribe for 3-6 months at a time, for 11.99/mo and 9.99/mo respectively. You will be billed the total amount at once (35.97 every 3 months or 59.94 every 6 months.)
You can cancel that at anytime and revert back to the regular 14.99/mo billing (you cannot then go back on founder rates.)
Get special 3 and 6 month Founder's Pricing - Only available through March 15th!
At the end of any game play time included with new accounts and at the end of each successive subscription period, your payment method will be charged (on a recurring basis at your selected subscription rate) until you cancel your subscription. If you choose to cancel your Founder's Pricing subscription and later re-subscribe to RIFT, the Founder's Subscription plan will no longer be available.
I have pre-ordered 2 CE's both with 6 months. My husband pre-ordered one CE with 6-months without even having tested the game - just based on our discussions about what I've experienced in alpha and beta. We both feel strongly enough in the product and the development team, that we want to support them, even if we don't stay the full 6-months (which at this point is pretty unlikely...they'd have to really screw something up.)

If you want to start off with something manly. Roll a Cabalist Cleric right off the bat. I'd really like to see someone get that leveled enough to reach the 2nd soul. That one right there is a real nice challenge

I forget, did that reach the second soul npc? Or is that when you start trying to figure out how to aggro all the other nearby mobs with your aoe dot?

Yeah 4 is 2nd.
And if you don't figure out how NOT to agggro 2nd mob with your first cast, you WILL go down. A lot.
Sucker hits hard though.

Just FYI, I picked up a Rift beta code from Massively yesterday. If you haven't grabbed one, it looks like they and TTH have a bunch that they're giving away in articles and twitter feeds. I don't mean to promote other sites other than to offer a way for people who are interested to get into the beta. If IGN is giving away codes, please edit my post and include that link instead of my above suggestions. The only reason I even grabbed a code was because of the positive comments about RIFT in this thread.
I actually wasn't really on the look out for a new MMO until I saw this thread and that they were basically running an OB/Stress Test this weekend. I read a few of the previous posts and some of Sprawl's thoughts, so we'll see. I also picked up a beta key for Earthrise yesterday, which seems much more intriguing if only for the fact they they have a two faction system where you can stay neutral ... and it isn't a fantasy themed MMO.

The quantity of good stuff these guys put out in a week... Craziness. Lots of good, but a few of my favorites.
CE and preorder stuff in for testing this beta.
Removed the level restriction from mounts, so we can start using our CE mounts at level 1.
Open world PvP system introduction.
Bolster effect in warfronts.
Better targeting indicator.
Client improvements for ATI cards.
