It was only 'popular' among gamers on Day 1. That has changed drastically over the years.

It redefined what Gamer means, it broadened it, it made it more mainstream. Now people with lives play it, people who do other things besides sit in front of a computer. It is a strange concept but gaming doesn't mean the same thing now that you remember.

I remember when a lot of my favourite bands were awesome, too, before the uncool mainstream masses started enjoying them.

Heh, most WoW "players" aren't "gamers".

It was popular before day 1 - 500k in the stress test.

WoW is as awesome as ever, some people are just bored with it after too many years.

we were talking about this in the guild earlier today, how pvp and even the game in general was fun. not every class could heal to full or had 5 stuns/silences etc. before DKs, when shaman and pallies were the special faction classes. I think the worst has been the amount of spells, I've been out of room for macros since BC...almost forced into getting one of those gamer mice just for the extra buttons

That too is a matter of opinion. To some, it is getting long in the tooth, to others, it still is fun. It is all in the eye of the beholder.

I do love the song in your sig though Great song.

Currently in the MMO unemployment line.
Can I get $15/month for not playing them?
