I also have fond memories of daoc. It was great, for it's time, and I played it for quite a while.
Going back to it, though... I think we paint it in a better light than it was at the time.
It was a GREAT game, until Trials of Sucklantis.
What I loved about that game is I could gring out a max lvl toon rather quickly then craft, enchant a suit with wpns and at least compeat in end game RvR. Keep takes, defense, relic ect... It wasnt AS gear based.

this...in its prime, it was the best and shocked it hasnt been copied...specially the craptastic PVP they have in WoW.

The people who played Daoc made the game good not just the game itself is what people don't understand and the kids these days playing mmo's well what can I say about them just go look at the chat channels in any mmo.

I think everybody is forgetting about having to have buff bots to compete, hello rose colored glasses.
But yes it was a good game till trials of craplantis.

I always had a buffbot (two when I played mid, haha) so I never was worried about that.
And, I always thought it was pretty gear based. Having to have the perfect template to compete at a high level, etc.

A good game, prefer the trial over a wow sub,but wont play unless they make a daoc 2.
