Pre-Cata I generally pulled 50% of total damage on both trash and bosses when I specced DPS, and 35-40% when I was specced for tanking. The joys of being a DK and also knowing how to actually play the class properly.

That being said, I never really minded carrying people through dungeons so long as they were not being so awful as to just stand in place auto-attacking and not using abilities. I would throw in advice after looking at recount data for their class if I was feeling helpful and was comfortable with how to play that particular class.

On the other side of the coin, if anyone mouthed off at someone else when they were being awful at their class themselves, I would vote to kick them, and if it was multiple people being stupid, would whisper the new arrival to vote to kick the second most annoying person.

No kidding. Just last night I was with a mage that was doing just under 30k some fights and just over 30k other fights. He was almost doubling the 2nd place DPS. Those mage numbers might be normal in raiding but I can't get close to that in ZA/ZG on my warrior or rogue. AE fights for sure but he was doing this on boss fights.

I don't mind either. As long as they don't start nit-picking at those who are carrying them through the dungeon. Put the tail between the legs and enjoy the ride. Don't start make lame comments about gear if they have you trumped on the meters.

I doubt that players comment would have ranked high enough with me to consider longer than a second. I probably was the brunt of them when I played but don't recall.

Huge dorks take this game seriously and build their world around topical forum conversations. Like those that revolve around pvp gear. Who cares?

I call people out for PvP gear all the time, but only when they are pulling crappy DPS and using that gear to cheat the dungeon finder reqs. If they are pulling decent DPS I could care less what gear they are wearing.

And yes kicking the person who commented on your PvP gear was juvenile.

So do you call people out for PvP gear all the time or just when their DPS sucks? You should probably understand your own thoughts before relaying them onto the board for us to be confused by.

I don't see how my post was unclear. I find myself calling out people for low DPS frequently and most of the time it is because they cheated the dungeon finder with PvP gear. If their DPS is fine then I wouldn't even know what gear they are wearing because I am not checking it. Perhaps I should draw you a picture since you appear to have trouble with the written word?

I wasn't calling him juvenile, I was saying his actions in the situation were. Obviously in this situation he got his panties in a bunch over someone commenting on his gear so he instigated a vote kick against that person. Now you may agree with his actions (which would be unsurprising) but that doesn't make the action any less juvenile.

I'm not offended. I probably shouldn't have initiated the vote kick. I suppose the other group members shouldn't have voted for it either. What is done is done. Somedays I have a stressful day at work and I like to have a cathartic release on WoW mobs. I suppose it was bad timing for a poorly played mage to call me out.

These situations are like a big chess game to me. He made his move. I made mine.
