rifts wardrobe system is pretty awesome

Virtually every other company has figured out that players like this (even EVE and people don't even come out of their spaceships for that one!)... except Blizzard. Because Blizzard is the only one left with the attitude of "you play the way WE want you to play, citizen, and we LIKE our grotesque shoulderpads and uglified clown suits!"

Actually, I'd say Bliz does a pretty good job of figuring out what players want, hence the number of players for ALL their games and their repuation as one of the best game producers of all time.

Gameplay is more important than being able to customize the appearance of your avatar. Unless maybe you're playing SIMs or going old school and busting out your daughter's barbie collection.

I'd say this is a nice to have if the game can support it type of feature but there are so many more important things that it's barely worth discussing.

With Bliz and WoW I'd much rather see them focused on new content delivery over any fluff feature like this, realid x-realm stupidity, etc, since their pace of delivering new content is horribly slow and they don't need distractions.

Ability to mangle my avatar isn't going to keep me playing. New content to explore and crush makes me want to log in and keep my sub going.

As a side note, when I was playing Rift I'd often see players writing they wanted a barber shop like the one in WoW...

As another side note...in DAoC and Rift you could/can dye your armor and a lot of times players come up with hideous looking schemes that rival any visual vomit built-in to the game as "sets" or mismatches of level appropriate gear.

Frankly I miss the F7, G looting in DAoC. And yes, there needs to be a way to customize armor tyvm. While we're at it, I'd like to see customizable amor for mounts too. Either take it on and off or change the color or something!!

Yes, the reputation that the B-team has single handedly managed to destroy in less than a year.

Blizzard had a great reputation. Now, their own staff members are posting defensive pot shots at what were once "fansites" that have now turned on them

Oh it's taken them more than a year to do all this damage to it, the playerbase as a whole was just slow in catching on to what was happening thanks to momentum from more skilled devs than Ghostcrawler.

And the solution is simple, the minute you enter a BG or an Arena the cosmetic gear goes off. If Turbine can think of this I'm sure the great and mighty blizzard can as well.

As far as World PVP goes, um well, it might actually add some you know risk taking and excitement because you don't know if you'd be able to pwn the guy or not. Yet, that isn't what PVP is really about anyway, it is about Pwning the person you're are facing. One of the reasons I refuse to play it.

dc unvierses is the best one out there however I would settle for EQ2's system.
