http://ac.wikkii.net/wiki/Tailoring

Transferring Appearance

1. Purchase a Tailoring Kit. NOTE: You can NOT Tailor an item that is Retained (Leather Applied). You may use sandstone salvage to remove the retained property on loot armor, however.
2. Apply Tailoring Kit to the armor piece with the desired look (Warning: Armor item is destroyed and converted to an applicator that looks like the old armor icon with a big arrow on it).
3. Apply newly created applicator to the armor with the desired stats. The icon and appearance will change to that of the destroyed item and keep the same stats.
4. The two items must cover the same slots (for example upper legs, lower legs). See Armor Coverage for which armor occupies which slots

i agree that lots of the good stats armor looks really ugly, but i also like that people have to choose between stats and looks sometimes. i like making those kind of decisions.

how about deciding how you look with what you want to wear?

I think its ridiculous WoW still does not have some kind of appearance tab or some type of dye system literally everyone looks the same when i go to Org

RIFT "AE looting"

I thought I'd borrow your thread. WoW needs this. I can no longer bring myself to loot single corpses. Rift broke me.

I never looted corpses UNTIL Rift. It drives Ayla crazy that I will just leave sparklies all over the ground, but sorry, I have early carpel tunnel. I could care less about sparklies.

I prefer the way DC Universe has this set up. Once you loot/obtain the item, the look is in your "wardrobe" or whatever you'd like to call it, forever.

This allows you to change whatever you're wearing to look like anything you've obtained for that slot.

I've wanted this for ages, because my Hunter would look so sexy in full Giantstalkers. I have the set, but rarely put it on as the stats suck

Great idea, though personally I like LOTRO's appearance system as a better way of implementing such a change. Both have merit, but both are moot. Blizzard will never make this change; they haven't even given us dye after more than six years. WoW is all about the gear, and the hardcores waste their evenings every week just so they can stand in Org or Stormwind and see on sight that their Epeen is bigger than yours, via the gear you are wearing. In many ways Blizzard is out of touch with their fanbase. They understand the addiction model/hardcore mentality with peerless accuracy, however.

Blizzard will never do this, which is why model editing is so rampant.
