I like the sounds of ArcheAge. After reading this article I looked into it, sounds right up my alley. Unfortunately with a Korean release aimed at 2012, probably won't hit here (if ever) until 2014.

A few things about the dragon fight encounter. I have heard that due to the demo and time lenghts they have tonned down these encounters so that they don't take as long. I am not sure how accurate that is though since I don't have a link/source.

As far as the fight goes, the linked video I believe was shot more for show than any thing else. Any way ther is alot of elements to the fight. First you have the dragon himself. Next you have the giant undead adds, that will blow up if not killed. The dragon will summon the bone walls to stop artillery from hitting it. Then you have the tendrils the he calls that will take players off the artillery and fling them to the dragon. Also ypu have the giant laser that will shoot at him that will stun him. There will be adds attacking this, you have to protect the people who are running the cannnon or revive them if they die.

Also as more people partake in any of these fights the tougher they get. Anyway basically you have a choice as far how you want to partake in the fight. Get up close and dirty, shoot artillary, or help with adds and protect the cannon. No matter what you do, you still credit and can open the big chest at the end.

Mithan any chance of getting a GW 2 Board eventually?

GW2 - for being a more truthful MMORPG to aim for than SWTOR.

I doubt this makes sense, but SWTOR still looks far too mediocre to me for it really "count" as a true MMORPG - there is far too much jedi this, jedi that and more crap. There are new ideas but it looks like a wow clone. One of those vids already revealed a capture the flag'ish Battleground... yeah, just what we need, more BG ^^.

And to be honest, Jedi Knight 2 and 3/Jedi Academy jedi sabre fights are BY FAR more dynamic and whack-ass funny and wilder than what we could see here.

Why can't these suckers clone Daoc RvR if not done already

Secret World looks promising too. For something new rather than your typical elves.

Sadly, it's done by Failcom, the guys who managed to screw up Conan, one of the best heroic fantasy franchise...

SWTOR: 50 Jedi Shadow (Tank), 50 Sith Marauder (Annihilation).
LOTRO: Lifetime account, playing very casually.
WoW: Both accounts canceled for now.
GW2: Future Warrior.

I think there is probably an entire generation of MMO players (all us old schoolers) who will be done with MMO's forever unless GW2 or TOR delivers (and neither probably will).

Count me in this camp. I have one foot out the door now, and the other sliding towards the exit. No current subs.

I was told that they were just doing publishing. But a look on wiki should help here.

edit:
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuughhhhhh
okay, you got me there man.

failcom and EA publishing, funcom developer.

Hmpf, well it's always the 2nd chance thing to look at. After all, Gaute etc are not participating in this one, hopefully, but I guess I can scratch off my hopes. The game looks like a Left4Dead goes MMO thing too - or even like Hellgate London.

Anywho, eyes are on GW2, regarding fantasy stuff.

Strangely, Star Trek Online does have rare moments of fun, but escort ships right now are the shizniz(sp) as they are pretty much your typical WoW-release Rogue -- but imagine it with a lot more fotm, a working vanish and oneshot kills/dps spam.
I dearly hope the upcoming content stuff with fix that crap.
