I just have to LOL at the beta arguments.

I have been in so many MMO betas, dating back to EQ1. The list includes: EQ1, Anarchy Online, DAOC, AC2, SWG, WoW Beta 3, AoC, WAR, SW: TOR.

The final product was nearly the same as the beta in every single case.

I highly doubt TOR will change that much unless they gut the whole thing and revamp it in 3 months.

"Blizzard sees 4.3 as one of the final content patches leading up to the next expansion. "There's very likely to be a content patch from the perspective of world events that build up to the next expansion but this will definitely be the last content patch for Cataclysm content," said Chilton."

Im guessing they really want to get MoP out and just forget about Cata right now. Ive never seen Blizzard move so quickly with an expac.

Blizzard made an announcement earlier in the year saying that the usual 18 month period for expansion packs would be pushed up to one per year.

You can expect the next expansion pack to be out in the spring.

I survived to the end and got nothing out of it, but hey.

Wow. It just seems so quick to me. I remember Blizzard not releasing a thing until it was "done" and now, they seem to just churn them out just to make Activision happy.

Eh, EQLive had expacs at least once a year. Rift has had more new and free content in its 6 months of existence than bliz can manage in 2+ years. Bliz moves at a glacial pace and the value for sub buck is low... Considering how many subs they have and how much they charge for boxes, there's no excuse on how slow they move and how little extra they provide to their customers.

Bliz would be bleeding more subs but they have the benefit of being the first MMO for a lot of people and/or the only PC game some people play. Those players simply don't know any better and/or have no interest in trying anything else.

I've read more from people in the SW:TOR beta who like it than from people who don't like it, even if I include all the usual VN board haters. Of course, that proves nothing, but it just means that opinions are like buttholes... I will only believe what I see myself, hopefully soon during a beta week end. Then maybe I'll pre-order it.

LOTRO: Lifetime account, playing very casually.
WoW: Both accounts canceled for now.
GW2: Future Warrior.

Blizzard hasn't stuck to a fixed schedule for expansions to my knowledge. I don;t care enough to Google and compare dates, but I thought they hovered around the two year mark.

In any event, this next expansion will come about a bit sooner than others I'm sure. Blizzard thinks that they need expansions sooner, and they're hurting.

Too bad all they really need is a change in lead design.
