"Blizzard sees 4.3 as one of the final content patches leading up to the next expansion. "There's very likely to be a content patch from the perspective of world events that build up to the next expansion but this will definitely be the last content patch for Cataclysm content," said Chilton."

Im guessing they really want to get MoP out and just forget about Cata right now. Ive never seen Blizzard move so quickly with an expac.

you'd be wrong.. they are RIGHT on schedule with all the others.. and it's nothing new. it follows their whole "scheme" exactly... 3 content patches, then a fairly large upgrade patch before the next expansion.

LK was started with naxx, then they did ulduar(i think that was it), then trial of the crusader, then the frozen throne.. then they did cata upgrade patch.

so we lose out on a true raid i think because they "redid" ZA/AG as a content patch. but it started with a 3 raids, then the ZA/ZG patch, then the firelands patch, then they'll do 4.3, then they'll have a 5.0 patch to get the world ready for the next expansion.

timeline? probably 9 months(minumum) out before we see the next expansion

Wow. It just seems so quick to me. I remember Blizzard not releasing a thing until it was "done" and now, they seem to just churn them out just to make Activision happy.

Shades of what happened with Leinenkugel after Miller bought them. For quite a long time they didn't mess with how the brewing was done then suddenly the quality went down hill when the price of hops went sky high and hasn't come back since.

Like any product company, Blizz probably had the next expac roadmapped well before Cata was released. Given their admission that they are bleeding subs, I have no doubt that work is well underway on the expac and will be here much faster than anyone expects.

Blizzard no doubt wants to move past the cataclysm debacle as soon as possible.

Cataclysm, the lackluster previous expansion has people lining up for more. [sheep face]

What seems quick? You don't even have a date for release yet. Waiting until its done? It's not even out wtf? Blaming Activision? That's a new one.

IMHO it is not fast enough this time. By the time 4.3 gets here with new features and things to do.. Several large MMO titles will have gone gold. Along with a large wave of more F2P titles.

I hope those large MMO titles and F2P titles hit like a truck. I really do, seriously ^^.

The competition must be tougher so Blizzard doesn't get so lazy again with the content.
