kool, its pretty much the condensed version of what we've told the last 168 cawkflops that came here for a "survey for my communications thesis", and none of them were even close to being so brazen as to "require the download of an addon"....
I stand by my statement. If you are are dedicated to defending him, then I can only assume that you are either also in the communications field, or just as inept and scared of Calculus, or both.

Hi there. I'm one of the lead researchers on this project, "Shadows in Dalaran." I am Rosa M. Martey, Assistant Professor at Colorado State University ( http://lamar.colostate.edu/~rmikealm/)
What we did for this study is create an add on you download from Curse.com (after filling out a stupid survey, I admit) and then schedule you to play a custom quest line in a party with other participants. We have you create a new level 1 toon on a specific server and then we port you to Dalaran where we've set up the quest. We use researchers as "NPCs" and you click things on the interface to "interact" and get quest windows, completions, etc.
This isn't an RP event, it's just a quest you do in a group. We give a 30 day game card to people who do the study as a thank-you for their time (about 90 minutes).
