There's a video with a dev of GW2 talking about their model. The RL money is for armor and fluff items, which can be obtained in game without RL cash. There are 3 currency types in game.

It won't be like Lotro where you can't quest in such and such zone without paying $2.99.

Exactly. This is what I have been saying all along and Gutter keeps trying to argue with me about. GW does not follow the normal F2P model.

GW is the game being discussed. Is that clear enough? Fanboi-ism for a game I haven't played in years? Okay, whatever you say, Gutter. Still doesn't change the facts that I laid out, which is that GW does not follow the F2P model you dislike.

This "debate" is going no where because, once again, nothing or no one will ever get you to admit that you could possibly wrong about anything. You seem to have an obsession with always being right and anyone who disagrees with you being wrong so knock yourself out and keep insisting that you are always right.

No, MOP is being discussed....
Jstudly brought up GW, and "no monthly fee"....

I commented on "no monthly fee"...

You can continue to try to put words in my posts that aren't there...it just makes you look even sillier, especially when it's all right there in black and white for you and everyone else to see..

Proceed sir.

(and if you keep going at your current rate, you can officially prove that you cannot comprehend what you read before reaching 100 posts)

Good luck, I'm sure you can accomplish that goal.

Just give it up Gutter. You were turning your nose up at GW because it was free to play and you dislike being nickel and dimed to death, making snide comments such as "By all means, enjoy your "dollar a stroke" gaming experience."

You continued to turn your nose up at it despite it being pointed out to you that GW does not follow that model.

Keep dancing all you want. I no longer care. If you haven't been able to wrap your mind around the concept of "GW does not follow the F2P model" by now, then you never will. I an beginning to believe you are arguing just for the sake of arguing and that you would find something negative to say even if you won the lottery. You are just chock full of negativity.

Again, that comment was in response to another poster asking what the difference was between a 15 dollar sub, and micro-transactions.

Again, you cannot comprehend what you read, as it was completely about models, not any one game in particular.

And again, you prove your ignorance.(you are closer to your goal!!)

This is really fun..keep going please!!

/yawn My point has been made. I'm done. Trying to have an adult conversation with you is as pointless as trying to keeping a pig clean.

I don't know what GW2 is going to do, not being as high on a kite on it as so many people are. I see it as just another disappointment in a long list of disappointments since the first true MMO came out, which was Ultima Online.

I'm in the same boat. Disappointment after disappointment with MMOs over the last few years has jaded me. No doubt. But this blind fanaticism for Guild Wars 2 makes me wonder at times. It's like the sacred cow or something. Well, anyway, best of luck with getting a beta invites to everyone.

Its not my fault you are too ignorant to understand simple English, context, and grammatical structure.

The only point you made was the poof of the above. Good job sir!
(and you managed it before 50 posts, which I thought was impossible until now!!)

All these talk of GW has gotten me back into playing it and I am enjoying it. It will be interesting to see how GW2 turns out. I thought SWTOR was the sacred cow, what with all the hype about the Star Wars franchise and stuff.

BTW, I like your sig. lol

Allow me to clarify my statement. Trying to have an adult conversation with you is pointless because all you seem interested in doing is making snide remarks, attempting to appear witty and being extremely condescending. You ignore anything and everything that is presented that doesn't fit into your agenda of being oh so intellectually superior to anyone who dares to disagree with you. I have no doubt you will once again ignore anything you do not like and will continue your "clever" snide comments. From this point on, you will be talking to yourself.

http://venturebeat.com/2012/03/26/guild-wars-2-is-challenging-the-mmo-establishment/

"Guild Wars 2 operates on a mix of these two business models. Customers must purchase the PC game, which carries an MSRP of $59.95 for the standard edition, but pay no recurring subscription charges. The game will offer a variety of virtual items for purchase instead, says Mike O’Brien, President of Guild Wars 2 developer ArenaNet: “We think players should have the opportunity to spend money on items that … offer more ways to express themselves … on account services and on time-saving convenience items … But it’s never OK for players who spend money to have an unfair advantage over players who spend time.”

And another article.
