Should be Gaheris and Mordred...no reason to exclude that player base from new PvP when they've already been ignored since 2007.

My theory is that Mythic likely decided not to implement the proposed battleground due to player population backlash, not due to the technical challenges. Changing Ywain coding to allow them to come over to Gaheris would be an entirely different story, and immensely complicated. Not something Mythic is likely to due, since it would require investing a significant amount of money into a game with an ever declining population.
This is partially true, but it wasn't implemented mainly because there were layoffs and staff reshuffling. The project got put on hold and no one still there has decided it is worth their time. The backlash wasn't that bad, but it did have a small factor. Keep in mind that a heavy majority of players from Gaheris supported the plan along with large interest from players of other rulesets.

I've seen him playing the server. I can't imagine he'd screenshot every single person talking to him about it.

I think quasi's point is there was no official poll within the game. If someone isn't willing to do the proper legwork they shouldn't make generalized claims. I played heavily during that period and I never spoke with him, nor any other representative of EA/Mythic, and no one I played with mentioned doing so either. Although many of the people I spoke with had reservations about it, there were some that were for it. I think it's fair to say "There were mixed feelings about it within the Gaheris population."

this came up back when i played and the obvious is that it would bring in new life, but the debate is would it benefit the server.
when i played the consensus was no. for the most part you wouldnt get people looking to join the gaheris community, you would get people there to breeze through the pve and realm ranks and get into pvp.
