Speaking from an outside observer's viewpoint I think Option B would add a lot of life to the game. Since it would be entirely optional the pure PvEers should have no reason to complain either.

I think the problem would originate from purely appearing to be associated with Mordred. A lot of people seemed to find that far more repulsive than anything.

There is less reason to justify putting it in the game if it only benefits Gaheris though. By including Mordred you would not only entice more use from Molvik but you also have a better shot at getting it in the first place.

Would not work what so ever having mordred characters meeting gaheris characters for pvp in molvik.

Gaheris players start out at RR4 with zero rps and go from there that gives a clear advantage and one that mythic would probably never ever allow.

Two different rulesets and they are not compatible.

Sorry thanks for playing but that won't ever happen!

I think you'd probably be surprised at how compatible the two rulesets are. There isn't much differing between Gaheris and Mordred aside from being flagged for PvP or not. I assume the Frontiers are different but that wouldn't matter since the only place the two servers would meet is in Molvik.

I don't really even understand why you'd be against having more people to PvP with in there either. Is there really enough Gaheris-only interest to make it worth putting in?

There isn't, which is why it was never implemented way back then. The backlash from most of the Gaheris-only community was pretty extreme, if I remember correctly. A lot of people seemed (note the use of past tense) to think any sort of association with Mordred, no matter how loose, would permanently destroy anything and everything that once existed on Gaheris.

Edit: Grammatical fail.

Not too much difference ... aside from the extra and easier RA system, not a lot.

... but the very fact that an rr13 here (and there are quite a few) has a skill set that is simply impossible on that server makes it more than a bit one sided ...

we would end up with people from mordred rolling and PLing toons here for the sole reason of playing in the molvik area, just so they had the extra RR benefits.

It's a little off topic but since everyone is concerned with how rp are acquired a few things:

First Gaheris gets the equivalent of RR3 in free RA points not 4, unless they raised the max level to 60 or started handing em out at 10.

Second Mordred is THE easiest place to build realm rank. If you have two or more toons find an out of the way spot and start farming yourself for rp, or do it with a friend if you only have one account.

Last I would add that most of the skeleton crew left on Ywain are rvr fanatics. Why would they leave a server with ALL of the bg's to visit a low pop server with only one? I just don't see it bringing in lots of people.

May I re-suggest as I did the first time they talked about this: Make any areas that do not drop dreaded seals available for ywain players to visit. This helps gaheris' pop problem and gives normal ruleset players a chance to group with and explore other realms without giving up the option of going "home" to rvr. If you allowed them to take home some of the cross realm gear I'm sure it would be very popular as well.

Makes more sense to me...

Gaheris/Mordred run on what is literally entirely different code for characters than Ywain does. Charcopy your Gaheris char over to Pendragon with some cross-realmed items that you can normally equip in your inventory. Try to equip them on Pendragon. It won't work. Changing that would take a TON of work, far more than Mythic can justify given the current state of DAOC. Likely more than they can afford, as well.
