This is classic. I hear stories on America's financial downfall, but this is taking the cake. I imagine this will become a great punchline for many jokes.
I wonder if he topped it off while taking the man to McDonalds.. making sure that lunch was on "The O" but he can only choos from the dollar menu haha.

I'm starting to like Obama.. he's creating better jokes than Bush was so far.
What is funny is on CNN they said that they both exchanged presents of good will and culture. They went into this elaborate rant on the British dudes gifts, but completely skipped Obama's. Now I know why.
Gordon Brown should retaliate with a gift card to The Colonol's or something.

haha, this hasn't been reported here from what i can tell
the uk press are usually so jumpy when it comes to any impact on the USA-UK relationship, seeing as hanging onto the usa coattails is all we've got going for us at the moment apparently

the competence, and even the democracy of the present uk brown governement is very much in question at the moment
perhaps dvd's are generous considering how long Brown (Tony Blair was leader when Labour won the last election, not Brown) and his pal Lord Mandelson (not elected at all, but a key decision maker for the governement) can keep up their antics

Not shocking. While the US may have had some class an elegance in the past long gone are the days of Jackie O, and blue blooded presidents. We are a nation of upstarts (not necesarilly a bad thing) and not as "aware" of the history and goings on of other countries (not a good thing). Hopefully Obama will learn a lesson from this.
When my husband and daughter travelled to England last October he was shocked by two things. How friendly the British were towards them, and their fascination with our election. He felt the people he met knew more about our politics than the average American.

- And you don't snag some crap out of the Gift shop and give it to the prime ministers children.
Most of all you don't give back the Bust of Winston Churchill (that was on loan to the Oval Office) without them asking for it back or making prior arrangements. Not enough oil in Brittain to stay friendly with?
