the world is safe now? let me go play in the streets then!

Let me rephrase..

If your pre-teen kids are used to having sleepovers and spooning with a 40year old world renown entertainer.. they are probably now safe.

If you once dated OJ and you are thinking about dating again, you are probably safe.

The faster they dump Jackson in the ground the better. I am so ashamed of the news corps for covering this as if it is real legitimate news. Im pissed that congress had a moment of silence for the guy.

What I DONT get, seriously, are the people that are crying over this stuff, the memorial, etc. I think these people have serious mental instability issues. 95% of these people devastated by the death of jackson, seriously did they even give a rats ass about him 2 weeks ago? Probably not.

THese people that are devastated, why? he hasnt done jack for 10+ years, all the stuff they are feeling nostaligic about, these songs are still on their iPod. I dont get why they really are sad.

Aside from the fact they need a hobby.

You cannot defend a person’s actions because they were talented, they still knew right from wrong. Let us not forget that the charges were dropped in his case due to him paying the family off and settling for an undisclosed amount out of court. Is that something that somebody innocent would do? Sounds like a bribe to me. Yes, the man made terrific music, but a there are sides of him we will never know. The one thing that makes me mad is the people whom accept what he did and say it’s because he didn’t have a childhood – well what about all the others out there in his family and other child actors deprived of a childhood? You don’t hear about them much. Just because Michael Jackson was a great singer doesn’t mean he was not a pedophile, and just because OJ was a decent athlete, and found innocent in a court of law – does not mean he really did not commit the crimes. I think about 80% of the people out there believe OJ is guilty. Am I sad by his death? Eh.. a tad because I wanted him to release his new songs and redo thriller like he announced he would do. But am I in tears over it like I was when Steve Irwin died? Nah. I think I was more bummed over David Caradines death, not cuz I liked him – cuz I didn’t, but because he died 2 weeks after they pushed forth the script for the Kill Bill Prequel .

They were all older than Michael, they were also never a 1/10 as famous as he was. All of their careers fizzled out after the Jackson 5, with the exception of maybe Janet. So they almost all got to return to a semi-normal life and every single one of them has mental issues. And childhood actors, for the most part, end up never being able to have a career once they get past childhood and have severe mental issues the rest of their life.

LOL I saw an interview with his father where he went on about what a tragic loss it was because he was the "greatest" performer" ever etc....never once did he indicate a sadness for the loss of a son.

As far as the memorial goes, I was forced to hear it as wife watched it while I was on the computer. Made me want to vomit hearing people excuse his actions. The one black congresswoman basically getting racial (As it seems there is a tendency to do with black policitians, QQ) and the "Maybe now they'll leave you alone" comment by his brother, what a joke. Maybe now he'll leave 12 yr old boys alone is more like it.

And to the ones defending him, don't act like the one case is the only time he was accused of it. Matter of fact, in regards to the excuse of not having a childhood, from most reports he tried everything he could to take advantage or another child star who lacked a childhood, and who knows maybe mess him up along the way. Did he succeed? Probably only him and McCualkin know.

I was very pleased that the resolution was shot down in the legislature. Although I was dissapointed at the reason given, stating that his fame and importance was already widely known and no resolution was necessary. Instead of the truth that the U.S. government would rather not have an official resolution honoring a pervent out there.

Guud, you make many good points, some of which I've made myself in conversations since his death.
