Even if you're right Guud, I'm not going to mourn his death. However repressed he was, however childlike he was, he knew right from wrong.

but that's exactly what guud is saying.... he may not have known right from wrong... when you are removed from normal people with normal lives and normal values long enough, you can, and will, forget what normal is in every aspect of the word...
that being said, there are a few unforgivable sins in my book... anything against a child falls into that "unforgivable" category.

I was 3 and wearing footed pajamas when I saw the Thriller premire (which scared the crap out of me btw).
Growing up in the 80's there was Micheal Jackson...and then everyone else (concerning music). There are people who make fun of him, but there was a point in his career where he was It...he was so much better than anyone else.
And then there was MJ in the 1990's + =X
But I still got him in my IPod =D

As horrible as it was, I direct my anger more towards the parents. How do you let your child spend a night at the house of someone you don't know AT ALL??!!! They're just as responsible for what happened as MJ was, if not more so.
I have a hard time mourning people I don't really know, but it terms of what he did for the music industry, it's sad for the fact that one of the biggest innovators is gone.

While I can understand what you are saying Guud, I still cannot excuse it. And the why implicates others as well. For the very same reasons you stated I cannot believe that nobody knew what was going on. He has to have security all over the place wherever he was, along with managers, and many others. So even if he didn't know right from wrong...they did.
As did the idiot parents that let their children go spend the night with him.
I am a parent, star or not my kids aren't going to spend the night with anyone I don't know and can't easily check up on. World is goofy enough and you run a risk even with some people you may know.

I totally agree, but I can try to explain the "how do you" part...
as mentioned before, MJ was, at one point, the most famous person in the world. the average person would never get a chance to even see someone that famous perform much less have a personal audience with him. in a word, they were starstruck. no this doesn't excuse a damn thing, but understand that being starstruck leads someone to do foolish and idiotic things.

There was good and bad in MJ's death. The world lost an incredible talent, a truly amazing entertainer, but also became a safer place for people, especially children.

Quote:
Presley called Jackson "an incredibly dynamic force and power that was not to be underestimated."
"When he used it for something good, it was the best and when he used it for something bad, It was really, REALLY bad," she wrote.
Guud's right, likely he knew, but didn't understand what was so very wrong what he was doing. Especially when his managers and security let it happen, giving consent through their silence. Parents gave their consent and silence with all the money he showered on them through their children, money often needed to support immense medical bills for their children. MJ chose his targets well, those who were sick and needy. It means he was an incredibly awful predator in my book.
I let my daughter listen to his music, because it was, and still is, good music. His music spans more than just the songs he performed, but you can hear his words and influence in other singer's music. The afternoon he died was the first time Deanna saw him on TV, I mean really saw him. She looked at the TV and said, " uck, that's a really UGLY woman.". "No dear", I replied, "that was Michael Jackson, and he's dead." "Why did he want to look like an ugly woman?" How do you respond to that? I mean, without crushing someone's innocence?

If he didn't know right from wrong (and touched little boys), he should have been hunted down like a wolf cub anyway. You're basically saying he had zero humanity in him.
