Ben grew up maybe 20 miles from where I did. His daddy was a rich elite and Ben was the same way. From what I have heard Ben thinks he is above the law because of his money, which was largely true in the town he grew up in. I hope he gets a reality check this time. He is truly a scum bag of a human being.

Problem is in our system he technically is above the law because he has money

Celebrities and athletes have gotten away with killing and even murdering in a number of times. Some don't even receive jail time for something that is completely their fault and then the media paints them as the victims in it because "they are so sad and distraught." It's more pathetic than sad. Jayson Williams anyone? Stallworth? List goes on and on

It's not athletes that are above the law, it's rich people. And they're not really above the law, as they're entitled to the best legal defense money can buy.

The real problem with all of this is the shitty defense that poor people get.

And a legitimate case can be made that the only reason the SEC dominates football is because they rarely ever have to play a true cold weather football game. They would crumble like an ancient ruin if they had to.

just once I'd love to see a warm weather team come up late season to play a big ten team in big ten country when its 20 out and the winds are blowing 30mph

as for Roethlisberger....the guy needs to stop being a freaking idiot you're in the NFL not the NBA stop pulling this crap

Yeah, every other conference has to worry about cold weather late season football games. The SEC is the only conference that knows they can avoid a cold weather football game and it is sad, because it puts cold weather teams at a disadvantage in a way. I would love to see Florida or LSU go to the Horse Shoe in late November.

Apparently the officer that investigated Roethlisberger has just resigned because photos of him posing with Big Ben surfaced. I don't think many people realize how his infatuation with quarterback ruined the case.

Are you guys on crack or something?

The district attorney has already said that Ben will not be charged. He said "looking at all the
evidence here, we don’t even have probable cause. Probable cause is the standard to make an
arrest, and we did not have that. Also the little whore who accused him told the DA through her lawyer that
she no longer wanted to pursue criminal charges.

HELLO??! She never had a case, she probably just wanted to gain some media attention from the whole thing. Or maybe she became teenage-girl-angry because Ben turned her request for a photo/signature down for what ever reason, as he is in his fully right to do.

And now he even as to watch several matches sidelined, even though he was never found guilty of anything. Complete effing bs.

Our law systems works like this: Innocent until proven guilty. So now stop all your nonsense jabbering and act like you're a part of a modern western civilized society. His dad might be a rich sob. Ben might even be a rich sob. But does that mean you should think he is guilty because some 20yo prat accuses him for something that he actually didn't do?

Huges07.1 from what you have heard "Ben thought he was above the law"... oh well well well, was he ever actually above the law? No. Will he ever get to be? No. Maybe there was just a few jealous punks around your little town who wanted to have a rich dad and be the college QB who Ben was? To me, that sounds a whole lot more probable, than what you have heard from some obscure source about Ben at some point during his childhood in a little town in the northeastern Ohio.

Stop the hate campaign and get down to the facts: Not guilty.

This isn't the legal system. If you can hate a player because he wears the wrong laundry, it's certainly understandable to hate a guy who by many accounts is an asshole. You don't know it was a cash or attention grab any more than we know it was sexual assault. The main thing is it was a skeevy situation, and that's the second public one that Ben has found himself in in as many offseasons. Also, lack of compelling evidence is not the same thing as innocence. The burden of proof in a criminal case is "beyond a reasonable doubt.", not "it could have gone either way."

He was never proven not guilty, the DA decided not to persue charges, but that does not mean is is innocent. I am not saying I think he did it, but there simply was not enough evidence and part of the problem with that is the fact the officer who responded to that call was acting all buddy buddy with Big Ben instead of collecting evidence that might have been used to prove him guilty. Based on that I would say in this one specific instance Big Ben might just have been above the law. Who knows what evidence was lost when the scene was cleaned up before GBI agents could arrive. He has to watch from the sidelines because this is not his first off the field incident and he should not have put himself into this position in the first place.
