Pink Floyd (Literally, yes the best band ever. Any fan of any genre has to agree.)
Led Zepplin
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Audioslave
The Doors
ACDC (Real solid band.)
The Beatles (An ify, they did make rock more mainsteam during their time.)
Tom Petty & the Heart Breakers
Black Sabbath
Bruce Springstein & The East Street Band
Aerosmith
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Metallica
Well so theres 13, the last 10 spot was hard cause I wanted to mention some others who would I think would be 10 also.

Haha I definately don't agree that Pink Floyd is the best band ever!
They're good, and definately historical, and yes a legend... but not the best band EVER

wow this is a tough call
hrm for me it would be
1. Motley crue - The first album i purchased with my own money was "Girls Girls Girls" and it changed my life and outlook on music forever 
2. Skid Row - Viva 80's Hair Rock. Sebastian Bach was my Demi God of Rock
3. Morbid Angel - Hooked me into more extreme musical forms, dont agree with their lyrical content, but they are awesome.
4. Live - brilliance nuff said
5. Metallica - Music of my teen angst
6. Stereophonics - i still listen to "word gets around" near every 2nd day
7. U2
8. Pearl Jam - goto love the jam
9. Bon Jovi 
10. The Cult - Ian astbury is a god
